If money was no object.
If you could buy land anywhere, and afford to build any type of home you wanted, where would you move? What would you do? Would you spend a lot on firearms/security? Would you go solar, biodiesel, geothermal? what type(s) of energy? How much PM's, food, land, clothes?
I am basically asking if you had the funds to get yourself properly set up for when tshtf, how would you do it? What is your plan, barring financial restrictions? Obviously you would stack up gold, that's not really what i'm referring to. |
Re: If money was no object.
My Sisters neighbors had the perfect set up. They lived in the remote mountains in Montana. They had a totally self sufficient underground bomb shelter that was big enough to house 30 families. They had their own power, water and air filtration system. The shelter was stocked with years worth of food. I never saw weapons but Im sure they had them stocked. That's about as good as it gets. Although it was interesting visiting I would not want to live like that.
If it really gets that bad I would probably want to go to stay mobile and camp in a large remote area. |
Re: If money was no object.
this would do it for me. :rolleyes_m: Dennis Weaver's Earthship "Sunridge" Ridgway, Colorado, it's been on the market for years, at a cool $3.3 mil.

I'm looking at a little desert oasis, out West. More than that I won't say--it's out of the way, and that's how I want to keep it.
Y'all wouldn't care for it anyway. |

I would have full wind and solar for off the grid power. There would be a ranch style 1 story house with a huge basement (bunker?) that would house the wine cellar, arsenal, and disaster shelter. The arsenal would be "sizeable" :bear_w00t: On the property would also be an airstrip and I would have a few light planes at my disposal with underground kerosene tanks nearby. Whew... I wish I didn't have such a great imagination, it would make real life much easier :banghead: |
Re: If money was no object.
I would get me a fricken cobblestone castle about 150 miles north of new york...... sitting on at least 45 acres... that way I can set up 6 to 9 sattlite houses for others my "inner cirlcle"that would be welcomed( I cant defend it all by myself now can I?)
I would have all the ammenites of water and well distrubution and working farm with horses ......I would keep the farm hands very well paid as I have not a lick of experince with country living and daily chores. I dont care for a stream But I would like a lake somewhere on the property that way I have to worry about somebody contaminating my water supply upstream.. I would find some way to harness the power of my lake to make electrity for my compound ( I know it can be done if you have the money ) I would also put a small chaple on my property so people no matter the faith they can come and worship whatever they know to be "god" I would also have some reserved "sacred space" for those worship outside.(religion should be running pretty high if TSHTF so I will alocated area for that) And I would have lots of dogs... strays if possible(love a mutt) and let them run the property securing the perimeter. I am going to get something like that in about 7 years or less ......all you guys and gals can come up for the house warming:s9: T |

I could never live in a castle. I have watched too many shows on hauntings.. The first time I saw some apparition walking around I would be OUT of there. |
Re: If money was no object.
